Medium-density fiberboard or MDF is a high grade, composite material. It is made of recycled wood fibers, wax, and a resin binder and it is form into panels by applying high temperature and pressure.
Because of this process, MDF does not warp or crack like wood. Also it does not have noticeable grain patterns, resulting in a beautiful smooth finish. MDF is generally denser than plywood and is stronger and denser than particle board. MDF is also less expensive, which is sometimes a big selling point for certain products.
